Terms of Use
The rules of the agreement between you and Kanbanly: what we give you, what we expect from you, what happens to what you upload, and what happens when something goes wrong.

What Kanbanly is, and what it is not
Kanbanly is a tool for organising work visually: boards with lists and cards, with dates, labels, checklists, comments, attachments, reports and calendar, table and map views. It runs in a browser and nothing needs installing.
Kanbanly is not a backup system, nor a document archive, nor a repository of legal record. We store your content carefully and the Security page explains how, but if a piece of data is critical to you, keep a copy elsewhere. That warning is not a technicality: it is honest advice we would give about any internet service.
Your account
To use Kanbanly you need an account, and to have an account you must be at least fourteen years old. If you create it on behalf of a company or organisation, you are stating that you are authorised to bind it to these terms.
Your account is yours and so is your password: do not share it. Anything done from an open session with your credentials is attributed to you. If you suspect someone has got into your account, change your password and tell us immediately.
The details you give us when signing up must be true. An email address that does not exist is not a minor detail: it is the only way we can give you back your access if you lose it.
What you upload stays yours
Everything you create or upload to Kanbanly — text, files, images, comments — remains yours. We do not acquire ownership of it, we do not use it to promote anything, and we do not pass it to third parties.
To provide the service we need a limited and strictly instrumental permission: to store it, copy it between servers, transform it where necessary — generating a thumbnail, including it in a report you asked for — and show it to the people you share it with. That permission exists only to make Kanbanly work, cannot be used for anything else, and ends when you delete the content or close your account.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. If a file you attach to a card infringes someone's rights, you are the one who answers for it.
What you cannot do here
The list is short because it is not trying to cover every imaginable case, but to make the criterion clear: do not use Kanbanly to harm anyone, or to break the service for everyone else.
- Illegal content, or content that harms people
- Child sexual exploitation material, incitement to hatred or violence, harassment, threats and impersonation. Child exploitation is handled with absolute priority and reported to the competent authorities.
- Fraud and deception
- Scams, impersonation of brands or people, and any setup designed to make someone hand over money or credentials believing they are giving them to somebody else.
- Malicious software
- Uploading or distributing harmful programs, links to them, or using Kanbanly as a distribution point for any of that.
- Spam and unsolicited advertising
- Using invitations, comments or any other feature to send bulk messages to people who did not ask for them.
- Infringing rights
- Uploading protected works without permission, or using third-party trademarks in a way that causes confusion.
- Attacking the service
- Trying to get around access controls, reaching other accounts' data, deliberately overloading the infrastructure, or automating usage in a way that degrades the service for everyone else.
How to report abuse
If you come across any of the above, report it. The report reaches a department specialising in complaints and claims, which reviews it and acts: it may do nothing if there is no breach, remove the content, warn whoever posted it, suspend their account or close it, and in serious cases bring it to the attention of the authorities.
We review every report that arrives, and child-exploitation reports are looked at before anything else. We reply as soon as we can; serious cases do not wait their turn.
Reporting in bad faith, en masse, or to harass another person is itself a prohibited use.
Plans, charges and renewals
Kanbanly has a free plan that does not expire, and paid plans that raise the limits. What each plan includes is shown on the plans screen in the application, and that is what counts: if that screen and anywhere else disagree, that screen wins.
Paid plans are charged in advance, in Colombian pesos, through the Wompi payment gateway. The amount charged is the one you see before confirming, with any applicable taxes.
The subscription renews itself at the end of each period. You can cancel it whenever you like from your workspace's billing page: cancelling means no further charges, but the period you have already paid for is honoured in full and you keep the plan until it runs out. When it does, the workspace returns to the free plan.
If a charge fails, the plan is not cut off there and then: it is retried, and meanwhile you keep the plan until the already-paid period ends. We email you about every failed attempt, because a plan that disappears with no explanation is worse than one notification too many.
Refunds
If a charge is our mistake — we charged you twice, we charged you for a plan you did not take out, we charged you after you cancelled — we refund it in full, and you do not need to argue: write to us and we will look into it.
If you simply change your mind, cancelling prevents the next charge but the current period is not refunded, because the service has been provided. If you think your case deserves an exception, tell us: we would rather look at it than apply a rule blindly.
Suspending and closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. Except in serious and obvious cases, we warn first and give an opportunity to put things right. In serious cases — child exploitation, attacks on the service, fraud in progress — we act first and explain afterwards.
You can close your account whenever you like. When you do, your content stops being accessible; exactly what happens to the data is explained in the Privacy Policy, in the retention section, and it is worth reading before closing anything.
Availability and changes to the service
We do what we can to keep Kanbanly available at all times, but we do not promise an availability percentage: that would be a promise that does not depend on us alone, since we rely on hosting, database and email providers.
Kanbanly changes. We add features, improve others, and occasionally retire one that was not earning what it cost to maintain. When we retire something you genuinely use, we will give notice inside the application and explain what replaces it.
Some features are published as experiments inside the Labs. They are marked as such, they may change without notice and they may disappear. Turning them on is voluntary.
Warranties and liability
Kanbanly is provided as it is, with the features it has at any given moment. We do not warrant that it is fit for a particular purpose of yours, nor that it is free of errors, nor that it will never be down.
To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to it. If you are on the free plan, that amount is zero, and it is worth knowing that before resting anything critical on a free tool.
None of the above excludes liability that the law does not allow to be excluded, such as liability arising from wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
Governing law and disputes
The law under which these terms are interpreted and the courts competent to settle a dispute will appear in this section as soon as they are confirmed. In the meantime, and in any event, we would rather sort things out by talking: write to us through Help before going down any other route and we will try to fix it.
Changes to these terms
When we change something relevant we will update the date shown under the title and give notice inside the application. If you keep using Kanbanly after a change takes effect, we take it that you accept it; if you do not, you can close your account, and if you had a paid plan we will refund the part of the period you have not used.
